3 Questions for my interview Monday.
1. Tell me About Yourself
My name is Luke Pamer and I am a Freelance Visual Director. My passion for this field grew over the last year and a half as I participated in a year long internship with Overlake Christian Church. Through this internship I learned a lot about my self and working with others on a team.
2. Can you tell me more about that point?
Yes. I worked on two teams at the church: The creative design team and the youth ministry team. The internship started out with 5 interns and doubled over the course of the year. Our team was close knit. The majority of interns, excluding me, worked in close working space. We had weekly meeting to encourage healthy intern relations and team building. I worked with a smaller design team, though. My team consisted of 4 other church employees and i was their intern specifically assigned to them. I quickly learned about their strengths and my own as well as their weaknesses and my own. We helped each other in the areas we were weak in and came together in the areas we were strong on in to produce something amazing.
3. What are our greatest Strengths and Weaknesses?
My biggest weakness is the inability to say no to projects. While this may look good to an employer the drawback includes myself not being able to complete tasks i am given due to having too many tasks on my plate. I realized this one day when i promised a task to 5 separate branches of the church which were all, coincidently, due the same day. The outcome was the incompletion of all projects because i couldnt realize i was too stressed to say no to projects.
My biggest strength is being a maximizer. In a nutshell, i dont like to do projects that will result in being mediocre. I prefer to make good ideas/projects in great ideas/projects. I continually strive to do my best in a project if i see the potential it could be. This came in the form of my team, during christmas, had an idea but wasnt able to put it to use. I was able to come in a help us create something that would really resonate with the congregation as a whole. This was one of my favorite art pieces and still hold value in it today.

Sounds like a great interview, Luke! I've learned a common mistake most fall into during an interview is when they're told to tell the interviewer about themselves, they will go all the way back to their childhood. You didn't do that. You seemed to explain your background as it pertained to the interview and that really set you up well for the rest of the interview; it seems more conversational. Way to be!
